Why Vegans Could Consider Eating Eggs

Why Vegans Could Consider Eating Eggs
Sure, vegans don't eat meat, but what's a little egg between friends? Eggs are a natural byproduct of chickens, and they're packed with nutrition. Eggs are a great way to support local sustainable farming practices that provide humane protein alternatives to vegans.
Eggs are an Ethical Gray Area
Now, I know this might be a controversial point, but hear me out. Some vegans choose to avoid animal products because of the way animals are treated in industrial farming operations. However, not all egg-laying hens are raised in galvanized steel cages. There are many small-scale, family-run farms that raise chickens in protein packed acres of green pasture. So, if you're a vegan with concerns about animal welfare, you might want to consider supporting these types of farms by purchasing their eggs.

Uhh, Why?
Your support of enduring sustainable ag practices helps keep these farmers in business. Not to mention eggs contains many health benefits including but not limited too:
A great source of protein. One large egg contains about 7 grams of protein, which is about the same as a glass of milk.
Also a good source of Omega-3 and Omega-6, Vitamin D and E, as well as Magnesium and Selenium. Eggs are also high in Choline, which is vital for brain and heart health.
If you're committed to animal welfare, you can even adopt a chicken! Many farmers will let you adopt a chicken and provide it with a comfortable home in exchange for a steady supply of fresh eggs. It's a win-win for everyone: the chicken gets to live out its days in comfort, and you get to enjoy delicious nutritious eggs.
Go ahead, crack open a few.
Enjoy the delicious, nutritious benefits they have to offer. Its the incredible edible egg!
Of course, at the end of the day, the decision to eat eggs (or any food product) is a personal one. I respect and support anyone's decision to follow a vegan diet. However, I just wanted to present a few points to consider if you're a vegan who is on the fence about eggs.
